Day 10 - August 14

Well, today was up and on the road by 8:30 and off to the tire shop again for a re-diagnosis of the shaking problem in the van.  Pete suggested one of the mechanics take it for a drive.  He said it definitely needed u-joints and they could get us in at 3.  So we spent the day exploring Prineville.  Visited the museum which was really well done.  Mostly about the first people, then the pioneers, then about the resources, forestry and it's by-products and then farming/ranching.  Then we went to look at some of the nice buildings, the court house, the fairgrounds and the local gem store.  We also did some shopping at Bi-Mart (their version of Walmart I think).  The van was done in about an hour and we hit the road again.  It is so much better, no more shaking.  We drove as far as Sisters, Oregon (named after three mountains side by side)  (there is also Mt. Bachelor just down the road.  We are at the Bend/Sisters Garden RV Resort which is the most deluxe accommodation you can find for an RV.  Completely paved roads and pull-through sits with irrigated grass all around, paving stone patios at each site, travertine showers, with heated floors and stone sloping sinks with really great smelling soap.  Of course you pay for such luxuries, $51 per night.  We are surrounded by the biggest and newest motor homes you can imagine who are attending a big motor home thing in Redmond, just down the road.  I don't think we took any pictures today except for the gem stone building and an old toyota truck for Ron (there are lots here to choose from Ron), but I did do some of our little home surrounded by giants in the park.
