Outer Banks Vacation - November 11, 2017

Today is Veteran's Day in the United States.  We were up early and on the road around 8:00.  We decided to get to Morehead City to watch a Veteran's Day parade.  We arrived around 9:00 and had a walk around the town.  Quite a nice town on the East coast of NC.  The parade started at 11:00 and went for almost 2 hours.  It was really nice to see.

Several marching bands, lots of local dignitaries and lots of veterans from all wars.  Also many different kinds of shriner vehicles from truckers to boaters to drifters (motorcycles that drift sideways).  Then we carried on South and are now in Surf City, Top Sail Island NC.  We are in Blackbeard's Treasure Family Campground and are backed right up to the intercostal waterway.  Really neat.  There are lots of fishermen here.  W.e already had a nice walk on the beach,.  So different here compared to the Northern OBX (short for Outer Banks).  Much busier and the beach is covered with shells and easier to walk on as the sand is firmer.
This is me waiting for the parade to start.  It was lovely and sunny for the first time today, but the wind  was still cool.  No other pictures have downloaded yet.  Bad wifi!
